2023 BELL CANADIAN SWIMMING TRIALS RECAP
VPSC had two swimmers, Lily Zhang and Hiro Hiruki, participate in the Canadian Trials from March 28- April 2 in Toronto.
Canadian Trials is the highest level of competition held in Canada each season, and this year was used to select the Canadian team for World Championships. Proving it was the fastest meet held in Canada, two new World Records were set by a Canadian swimmer, Summer Macintosh.
Both VPSC swimmers acquitted themselves well over the 6 day long swim meet. Lily was top 8 in the 200 fly for the 2nd year in a row, once again showing she is one of Canada's best at that event. Lily also made it back for finals in the 100 fly, and 400 IM.
Hiro was racing in his first Canadian Trials, and was able to move up several spots in the 50 and 100 fly, as well as post a big best time in his 200 fly.
Way to go Lily and Hiro!
